Our stay at Brenda’s place was nothing short of exceptional. The convenience was unmatched — we hosted a large family meal and never had to worry about a single item we might need. The home was stocked far beyond the usual amenities; it truly felt like stepping into my own home. From cookware to everyday essentials, even diapers for our 5-week-old granddaughter, everything was thoughtfully provided. The décor was beautiful and created an atmosphere of tranquility. Despite visiting during a difficult time for our family, I felt genuine rest and relaxation here. Brenda was a wonderful host — responsive and kind, always quick to answer any questions. The location was perfect: just far enough from the busy city to enjoy peace and quiet, yet still close to the beach, great restaurants, and shopping. I would highly recommend this home to anyone, and I’ll definitely be booking again when we return next month. Thank you, Brenda, for making our stay so comfortable and memorable.

Brenda is a wonderful hostess! Very responsive and helpful. This home is over 70 years old, I believe, and 20 years for ownership by Brenda. She's treated it kindly and dressed it up with lots of pizzazz! Very comfy place! Highly recommend!

The home was full of beautiful antique furniture and funky ecelectic art. Amenities were perfect. The back patio was very private and lush. We were able to enjoy our coffee outside in the morning & watch multiple birds using the fountain and birdbath. Brenda was very responsive to our questions. We will be back!

Brenda's home was such an amazing stay! A colleague and I were in Corpus for a work trip and this was a perfect place to stay. Not only was her home absolutely adorable, it was such a nice environment to work in. With calming wind chimes outside, bright lovely colors, great workspace and wifi, I would DEFINITELY choose this over a hotel time and time again. Highly recommend!

Bus stop is close by. I HIGHLY recommend staying on the water side of S.P.I.D.; the main artery that runs through town. That is, unless you're a fan of franchise restaurants & box stores when traveling to a new place (really?). Downtown, which has unique local restaurants (seafood anyone?) & FUN waterside attractions is a quick 10 minute drive away. Your groceries are a few blocks away at the closest HEB - basic goods only at this one - if you're a foodie at all, you'll want to drive a few miles further to the HEB at Alameda & Robert. DIRECTIONS TO BEACH: From Casa Calypso on Primrose, turn right onto Santa Fe, then left at the traffic light at Doddridge. This will "T" into Ocean Dr., turn right on Ocean and proceed several miles down Ocean until you reach Ennis Joslin - it's a veer right from the far right lane onto EJ whereas if you continued straight on Ocean you would come to a traffic light and continue on to TAMU CC (local university) - also Oso Pier & Grill is at that intersection; fun place to grab some grub on the water in town - they also have live music on Friday nights! Back to Ennis Joslin, proceed until you reach South Padre Island Dr., also known as SPID. Go under the freeway, turn left and proceed onto the entrance ramp. Follow SPID to the island and the beach; you will go over a high bridge - there are two restaurants on the water you can access by exiting SPID at the foot of the bridge - Doc's and Snoopy's - either one is great for seafood and atmosphere! Once on the island, you can either turn left at the first traffic light which is the highway to Port Aransas; you will pass several Beach Access roads that take you straight to the beach. Or you can proceed down the island to Padre Bali Park, where Bob Hall Pier is - you don't have to drive on the beach here, there are fresh water showers, and Mikel May's is a fun restaurant on the pier! If you do drive on the beach, make sure driving conditions are favorable; with the lack of rain comes very dry sand and cars that get stuck - no fun! Just remember to KEEP GOING & DO NOT slow down when you drive through powdery sand!
